Contenu de la fraudeI got a pop-up on my ipad saying my computer was blocked because I clicked on a link on my computer and my ipad was hacked. It said not to close my ipad because I would lose my data. I had to call Apple support at 1-833-743-4490. I tried to check the validity of the number on my other computer, but the number was not listed. I did call the number at 11:21, dec 6th 2023. The man said I had been hacked on my ipad, saw I was calling from Quebec, Canada, had an Indian accent. He asked many questions about my internet and other computers we had at home, if I used my computer for online banking transactions, etc, Which I don't unless I pay with Paypal or Amazon card on Amazon. I hung up, suspecting a fraud. Then, a minute later, he called me from another phone number: 1-800-642-7676. That was at 11:23 on dec 6, 2023.
Commentaire / ExplicationsHe said I was going to recieve a call from my credit card company about security, and before he asked another question, I said: ''forget about me giving you my credit card number, this won't happen'' then he hung up right after. I was wondering if I said too much, if there was a risk of him hacking into my internet, computer, or something else.
